Hiking and Exploring the Paria River
4th Edition
The Paria River flows from Bryce Canyon National Park south to Lee's Ferry on the Colorado River.   This all-new 4th Edition has 33 mapped areas, including many new hikes mostly in the upper parts of the drainage.  New hikes include Deer Creek & Oak Canyon, Asay Canyon & the Red Slot, Stone Donkey Canyon, Death Valley Draw, Upper Rush Beds, plus several locations of fotogenic Toadstool-like rocks.  This edition also has lots more cowboy stories, and the history of CCC camps, sheep herding & shearing corrals, & an old 1930 oil well.  From previous editions is the story of John D. Lee, Mountain Meadows Massacre, and his flight to the Lower Paria River to establish Lee's Ferry.  This 4th Edition has 64 more pages, but still the same price as the 3rd.
